How to automatically update your Twitter feed while providing original content

Without doubt Twitter is a powerful tool to make connections , learn new things and also to get traffic to your blog or website. If you are a busy person one problem you face while managing your Twitter account is how to update your Twitter feed regularly with good quality content so you you can grow more followers and you can keep your current followers. In this hub I will show you a way to automatically update your Twitter account with relevant original content. This does not involve grabbing a Google news RSS feed that everyone is using and feeding it to a service , rather its more to do with FriendFeed. You need to have a FriendFeed account to do this and if you are not on FriendFeed now is a good time to get in there because there are lots of benefits for web masters , especially bloggers. If you are scared that these tools will overwhelm your followers and make you look like a spammer then you can use software like HootSuite or services like BufferApp to schedule your tweets.

Since I'm going to use a FriendFeed account to do this I thought it would be good to give a small explanation about FriendFeed. People who are familiar with FriendFeed can skip this section and read the other sections. In very simple terms FriendFeed is a service where you can manage your all social media activity. All your stumbles , Diggs , tweets and even your blog posts are visible in one location. I have added an screenshot from my FriendFeed page so you can have a better idea of what it is all about. Also you can check out my FriendFeed page. I have highlighted the different services that is visible at that moment , but there are many other services you can integrate with FriendFeed. Simple speaking there are endless ways for you to use FriendFeed and FriendFeed subscribers are counted as RSS subscribers if you are using FeedBurner . although I think that's a bad move by Feedburner it sure is an easy way to increase your subscriber count.

As I mentioned in the previous section your every stumble , Digg , delicious favorite and blog posts appear in your FriendFeed timeline. Wouldn't it be great if you can share the same things with your Twitter followers ? Well instead of tweeting about it you can set up your FriendFeed account to automatically do this for you. Below are the steps on how to do that

• Go to your FriendFeed account and click Settings
• A dialog will appear with some links , click Twitter Publishing Preferences
  
• You will be taken to a page where all your services are listed and you have to select which entries you want to appear as tweets. Below screen shot gives good idea of what you have to do

With the above setting you can easily update your Twitter account while providing quality content to your twitter followers.
